WP6 Evaluation and Strategy
WP6 Coordinator: KanEnergi - Sweden
Objectives
Description of work
Deliverables
The aim is to
- Evaluate the actions taken in this project in order to find ways of performing better under way, as well as give feedback to future and ongoing activities in the field of EU ETS, JI and CDM
- Provide a strategy for future SETatWork action in present and new geographical and technological segments based on the evaluation of actions carried out in other WPs
WP6 has two main tasks:
An important part of the SETatWork action is to evaluate the achievements made in the course of the project period. The proposal suggests a number of quantitative and qualitative performance indicators - that will be used to measure the progress of work and an overall impact assessment in the final part of the action - as well as the associated approach and procedures on how to make the evaluation. The aim of the evaluation procedure is to assess the output of the project and to find possible outcomes and values of the project outside the project deliverables.
Both WP2 and WP3 will identify appropriate future actions on respectively the EU ETS and the CDM markets in Asia. Taking point of departure in goals for developing the European SET industry sector, as e.g. laid down in the EU export strategy for SET suppliers, the scope of work is to integrate this input to a coherent strategy for promotional activities in this field. The tentative contents of the strategy paper is as follows:
- The first part of the strategy will address the EU ETS and the CDM markets in Asia; e.g. it will extract the main lessons learnt from the project activities (WP2, WP3 and WP5) and propose how future promotional activities at these markets can be performed and integrated with existing strategies.
- The second part will address the perspectives of CDM operations at the CDM market in Latin America, in particular the targeted markets in Brazil and Chile. Taking into consideration associated EC and other initiatives in this area it will be evaluated how the experiences of SETatWork could provide input to the entrance of EU SET know-how and technology at the CDM market in Latin America.
The report will have a particular emphasis on strategies to facilitate the smooth penetration of energy saving technologies in the manufacturing industry and polygeneration with input on RTD and training needs from the reports produced as part of WP2 (RTD) and WP5 (training).
The strategy paper will be disseminated to relevant target groups as part of the SETatWork dissemination (WP5).
