WP4 Match-making
WP4 Coordinator: KanEnergi - Sweden
Objectives
Description of work
Deliverables
The scope of WP4 is to organise match-making events as forums for bringing RUE in industry projects into practice. The key basis for the match-making will be the projects identified under WP3, including outcome of training activities (WP5) as far as the ETS industry is concerned. The figure below shows how the project team will go about with the matchmaking based on ongoing work under the T@W contract. As illustrated, the basic concept is to bring parties together with a view to catalysing realisation of projects and business deals, the SETatWork’s facilitator function.

The key objectives are:
- Matching stakeholders involved in energy efficiency and savings in European industry sectors for realisation of energy efficiency and saving projects
- Matching project owners with emission rights buyers and with technology and service providers in Europe for realisation of energy efficiency and saving projects in industry sectors in Asia and Latin America
Part of the work is to identify events suitable for match-making, which could be technology/service suppliers and/or industry association events. DI and the European sister industry organisations will be involved in finding suitable forums. When identified, a key effort will be to create the adequate set-up for the match-making events, including the following activities:
- Preparation of lists of technology/service providers in advance of the events and combine these with project owners invited to the same meeting.
- To supply good examples etc. for dissemination via the website (WP5)
- Cooperation with training and promotional events organised as part of WP5
A key aim in the execution of workshops will be to provide assistance on project realisation, encompassing the following services:
- Link with established contacts in industrial associations for relevant technology areas
- Identify project owners seeking developers in EU/JI/CDM markets from contacts established in this and previous project (T@W)
- Establish contacts with technology suppliers
WP4 is split into two main tasks:
The focus will be on the European Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS). This task aims to bridge the gap between EU ETS companies (having projects), technology and service suppliers and associated actors.
The focus of this task will be on the CDM markets in Asia and South America. This task aims at bridging the gap between project developers, EU CO2 buyers and technology and service suppliers and associated actors.
