A central and unified platform for Power, Oil, Gas, Coal, and Emissions Trading in the regions of Central and South Eastern Europe is currently being established. It is essential that all market participants acknowledge this and conform to this change. This opportunity to enter into these emerging markets and gain influence with local and developing companies will be very important to those eyeing opportunities in new areas.
Current fragmentation in the power market should be addressed as integration will help in generating transparent and efficient markets. But, with many complexities in the market including a problem with multiple borders and monopoly shareholders in these regions, the CEE and SEE is also in need of regeneration. Priorities which need addressing include congestion management, generating market transparency, understanding how to get around entry barriers, and finding regulatory competency.
Now in its 7th year in the Energy market, EastEuro Link will once again provide a platform to discuss issues and create new networking opportunities. As the market opens, it is important to be flexible and know how to adapt to this potential. The CEE Energy Trading 2010 event should help you equip yourself with essential knowledge and contacts in growing industries.

B2B matchmaking event for more innovation and less CO2
IHK München

Heating and cooling are both major factors influencing energy consumption in companies. In order to prove the energy saving potential of innovative heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and to offer a marketing platform for technology providers, KEWOG Städtebau GmbH and Chamber of Commerce, Munich, joined forces to organise a matchmaking event with focus on HVAC technologies.
The SETatWork matchmaking event was attended by around 90 participants that could benefit from presentations that portrayed the energy saving potential of intelligent technology like solar cooling, fuel switch or re-cooling of chillers. Seventeen innovative technology providers presented their products and services and were available for personal talks with the companies interested in energy saving heating, ventilation and air-conditioning processes.

SETatWork Matchmaking Workshop:
Possibilità per l'Emission Trading System
Rome Fair Center, Italy
The key objective was to foster cooperation in the field of CDM projects; by creating contact between local CDM project developers & related business and EU stakeholders like buyers of CO2 credits and technology suppliers. This will be supplemented with other commercial and RTD activities.
The participants were interested in having contact with the organisations and companies for further business and learning about financing contacts. The event resulted in several contacts of direct interest to SETatWork activities.
It seems that some organisations want to have contact with national and international companies to be able to start working with their climate goals. For this CDM as mechanism is a very interesting financing model for them to be able to afford investing in clean technologies.
The technology focus is on energy efficiency and polygeneration in the industry sectors, but the scope of cooperation can cover broadly in the field of sustainable energy.
The main objectives of this workshops:
- The participants had the opportunity to share experiences and discuss "face-to-face" regarding new business opportunities.
- Identify the opportunities for specific action in the industries for CO2 reduction measures. This is to be achieved by local partners in coordination with important industry organisations.
- Promote the implementation of innovative and sustainable technologies in companies that participate in EU Emissions Trading System.
- Matching stakeholders involved in energy efficiency and savings in European industry sectors for realization of energy efficiency and saving projects.
