Programmes and Projects: The Biomass Partnership Project

The Biomass Partnership project was supported by the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme. In order to expand the market for RES heating it is necessary both to increase the supply and to stimulate the demand. On the supply side, the logistics associated with the collection of raw materials, for example pellets and wood-chip production are still at a basic level in most regions and countries, and the production capacity relatively low, despite the fact that many countries and regions are currently increasing their capacities for pellet-production. The logistics for distribution and sales operations also need to be stimulated in most regions and countries. This project strived to support these issues.
