The Biomass Partnership (The establishment of regional biomass markets through plant partnerships) project was supported by the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme. In order to expand the market for RES heating it is necessary both to increase the supply and to stimulate the demand. On the supply side, the logistics associated with the collection of raw materials, for example pellets and wood-chip production are still at a basic level in most regions and countries, and the production capacity relatively low, despite the fact that many countries and regions are currently increasing their capacities for pellet-production. The logistics for distribution and sales operations also need to be stimulated in most regions and countries. This project strived to support these issues. The website includes good practice case studies from Sweden, Austria, Finland, Germany, France, Bulgaria, UK and Belgium.

BioMatNet
The BioMatNet database contains details of organisations involved in bioenergy research, as well as details of EU-funded research projects over the last 20 years.
CADDET website
The CADDET website is a unique source of information on commercial energy-saving and renewable energy technologies. The CADDET Programme concluded in March 2005 but this web site will remain live to provide access to the wide range of information collected since 1988.
Greentie Website
The GREENTIE website – an international Directory of suppliers whose technologies and services help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The GREENTIE Programme concluded in March 2005 but this web site will remain live to provide access to the wide range of information collected since 1995.
ManagEnergy
The ManagEnergy website contains case studies covering local and regional energy action, including JI projects and projects funded by the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme.
RETScreen International Clean Energy Project Case Studies
Details of built clean energy projects and their related technical and financial analysis can be found in the RETScreen Database. These typically include assignments, worked-out solutions (RETScreen Software Analysis) and information about how the projects fared in the real world.
SEE-Stats - South East Renewable Energy Statistics
An initiative undertaken by TV Energy and sub-regional data partners on behalf of the South East of England Sustainable Energy Partnership, led by the Government Office for the South East (GOSE).
By
June 2007 the SEE-Stats database contained a total of 385 operational and 106 planned installations in the region.
The most significant installed capacity is landfill gas (138 MW electrical), followed by offshore wind (90 MW electrical), biomass co-firing (65 MW electrical), dedicated biomass (40 MW electrical, 28 MW thermal) and sewage gas (3 MW electrical). There had been an increase of 3.5 MW thermal biomass heating capacity and 0.1 MW electrical solar PV capacity since the last update in December 2006.
Sustainable Alternatives Network
The Sustainable Alternatives Network, a United Nations initiative, is designed to simplify the path from idea to implementation. It offers a tailor-made advisory service with access to local experts, one-on-one consulting, and a host of online information resources, including case studies of businesses that have successfully switched to cleaner technologies.
