Federal Public Service Health, Safety of the Food Chain and Environment was established in 2001 with a number of DGs, including DG environment, within which Service Climate Change plays a central role, constructive and proactive in international politics, European, national and federal in achieving the international commitments of Belgium in the context of the Kyoto Protocol on climate change. The service plays a role in the preparation of a series of reports required for European and international bodies including communication of essential information including: estimating past and future emissions of greenhouse gas emissions (national inventory and projections of emissions of greenhouse gases), the program national content , the effects of policies and measures implemented, the actions of Belgium for financial and technology transfer, etc..
