ISQ is a private, non-profit making independent technology centre and the largest inspection company in Portugal with a staff of more than 800 persons. ISQ was founded in 1965 and has been involved in all major engineering projects in Portugal, other European countries and also in Africa, Latin America and Asia. ISQ has developed expertise in almost all fields of engineering including environmental sciences and energy through these years.
ISQ has also a considerable experience in participation and management of European R&D projects.
ISQ provides technologically advanced and traditional engineering services as well as training to different manufacturing industries in Portugal and abroad. ISQ offers engineering expertise and services in maintenance inspection and life assessment of industrial plants covering a range of sectors including power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper as well as other industrial sectors. Environmental studies including energy research, combustion, pollution monitoring and modelling are some other technological fields of expertise of ISQ.
ISQ is recognised as a reference institution in Portugal, when the Environmental Sciences are concerned having more than 10 years of active work in this area supporting effectively the industry. Actually ISQ has about 40 people working in this area alone, in the Sustainable Development Unit. ISQ is recognised by the Ministry of Industry as a Competence Centre for Energy and Environment and was recognised as a fundamental R&D centre for the development of Portugal.
